Purple Crush was formed by Jared Selter and Isla Cheadle. After releasing a handful of singles, they released the album ‘Welcome 2 Emo Club’ on their own Crushed Records imprint. The album featured a cover version of Running Up That Hill, for which they also produced a music video. Their music was picked up by Interscope Records and they enlisted the duo to produce music for Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ album. Their efforts were scrapped from the final cut and a lawsuit followed soon.

2014 saw the release of their album ‘Iconoclassic’, with contributions by Josh Peace, rappers Rica Shay and Erik Avery, as well as drag artists Miss Barbie Q and Rudeness.

In 2016, they released the EP ‘Vogue Opera’, followed a year later by the single ‘Witch Stunt’.
